1. FC Magdeburg wins at Holstein Kiel! Duseltor, game turned, three points

1. FC Magdeburg has brought in the first three points of the new year. The team won at Holstein Kiel on Saturday.

How – Die Fans of 1 FC Magdeburg gave up in the away game Holstein Kiel on Saturday, after the disputes last, everything. The Saxony-Anhalt fought for it on the pitch and were rewarded! After a gripping game with five goals, the guests left the field 3:2 (1:1) as the winners!

At first it didn’t look like a gripping thriller. Despite extreme injury concerns, FCM took an offensive approach in Kiel. The “alibi football” accusation from the fans from the previous week was apparently deep.

But the hosts had better chances at the beginning and should have taken the lead after just seven minutes! But Simon Lorenz failed because of the outstanding reaction of Dominik Reimann, who kept his nerve in the hustle and bustle of the penalty area.

Whipped on by the Magdeburg supporters, the guests tried to gain more presence in the game by fighting. But again and again the storks came to conclusions instead. Timo Becker’s low shot after only 13 turns of the pointer went just past the Sachsen-Anhalt right post.

Magdeburg wanted, but apparently couldn’t. Playmaker Baris Atik got louder and louder during the first half and was dissatisfied with his team-mates, who acted too unimaginatively in attack.

And because the defense also acted wildly in some situations, it was almost foreseeable that the goal from Magdeburg’s point of view would come before the break tea. After a corner from the right, the ball reached Patrick Erras, who only had to put it in from the right (33′).

But anyone who believed that FCM would collapse after conceding a goal was taught otherwise.

In the last ten minutes of the first half, the bottom of the table turned up the heat and equalized through Daniel Elfadli, who had already scored against KSC.

The hit from the right shouldn’t have counted because Kai Brünker was previously offside. It is possible that a player from Kiel was the last to play the decisive game. The goal was checked and counted – a great fool for blue and white (45th)!

But the joy on the part of the guests was short-lived. In the 54th the “Storks” took the lead again after a throw-in. After a header from Becker, Jann-Fiete Arp got the ball completely free in the penalty area and pushed past Reimann on the right, to the chagrin of FCM.

As a result, the home side were better. Had some great opportunities to increase further. But if you don’t do it at the front, you’ll often be punished at the back. And again it was an FCM defender who became the goalscorer. Herbert Bockhorn converted a cross from Tatsuya Ito on the edge of the penalty area and netted in the bottom left corner to make it 2-2 (70′).

FCM coach Christian Titz couldn't like what he saw from his team on the pitch. The effort was right, but offensively lacked the ideas and behind you acted holey.

Despite falling behind twice, 1. FC Magdeburg didn't give up and kept coming back. This was rewarded with a triple point win.

Only three minutes after the equalizer, the Titz squad cheered again. But Atik was offside when he supposedly scored to make it 3:2. Since Ito came on, however, FCM has been better and created chance after chance. And one of them went in!

Again it was Atik, who thoughtfully put through to Moritz Kwarteng. The Magdeburg ran alone to Tim Schreiber and lifted the ball over the Holstein goalkeeper. Game turned, 3:2 (86th)!

It was a gripping game in the final minutes. Kiel threw everything forward, Magdeburg countered. But despite six minutes of stoppage time, neither team managed to score.

Thus, the FCM celebrated a very important threesome in the relegation battle!
