The next action game from Team Ninja, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, is the main game of our IGN First content of January 2023. Throughout this first month of the year, tons of exclusive reports await you about this new Soulsborne based on Chinese martial arts and developed by the team responsible for Ninja Gaiden and Nioh.

First, We have 10 minutes of exclusive gameplay of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty in Tianzhushan, a scenario at the beginning of the game. The beautiful mountain scenery and lush bamboo forests are impressive, but with bloodthirsty enemies around every corner, it might be best not to spend too much time admiring the scenery.

With hidden objects high up in the rocks that can be reached using the double jump and secret passages that can be discovered by cutting down bamboo trees, Tianzhushan is a fine example of Wo Long’s varied exploration.

Our video also shows a previously unseen weapon, the staff. Icon of traditional Chinese martial arts, the staff is one of Wo Long’s 13 types of melee weapons and features spectacular acrobatic moves.

The creepy mermaids and fearsome tigers from the demo are back, but new enemies like a giant ape and a hedgehog-like creature with a spinning attack reminiscent of Nioh’s Wheelmonk caught us off guard. Inside a creepy cave, we were greeted by a surprise attack from an enemy that still gives us nightmares. Take a look at the video to check it out.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be released on March 3 for PS5/PS4/Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One/PC and it will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Stay with IGN for lots more exclusive content on the game throughout the month of January.
