According to police sources, the incident took place in Aurangabad area of Bulandshahar district on Monday when a student named Sudiksha Bhati (20) was on a motorcycle with her younger brother from her home in Dadri in Gautam Budh Nagar to her maternal uncle’s house at Khanpur. On the way, in Aurangabad area of Bulandshahar, the driver of the bike running ahead of his motorcycle suddenly stopped the car, so that Sudiksha’s motorcycle crashed into it. Sudiksha, who was seriously injured, was taken to the Community Health Center where she died during treatment.
The family of Sudiksha alleges that while she was going to her maternal uncle’s house, some unknown people tried to seduce her and chased her, which led to the accident. In a viral video, Sudiksha’s brother is allegedly saying that he was driving a motorcycle when some people riding a bullet motorcycle came in front of his vehicle and suddenly put a brake. His motorbike’s number plate had ‘Jat Boys’ written on it and the vehicle number started with ‘UP 13’. Police say that Sudiksha’s brother did not tell the police about the molestation at the time of the incident.
The district police has filed an FIR against two unidentified people on the basis of a complaint lodged by Sudiksha’s father. Sudiksha was a brilliant student and she was pursuing a course in entrepreneurship from Babson College, Massachusetts, USA after winning a scholarship of Rs 3.80 crore. She stayed in her house in Gautam Budh Nagar due to the Kovid-19 epidemic and was to return to the US on 20 August.
Sudiksha’s father runs a tea shop. Sudiksha was the eldest of six siblings, who got admission on scholarship basis in American college on the strength of her talent while facing poverty.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women has asked the Uttar Pradesh Police to conduct an independent, fair and speedy investigation into the incident. Commission chairman Rekha Sharma, in a notice sent to the state director general of police, HAC Awasthi, said that in view of the seriousness of the matter, the matter should be investigated in depth and a detailed report should be sent to the commission as soon as possible.

BSP President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati tweeted, “The promising student Sudiksha Bhati, who was going on a bike in Bulandshahar, lost her life due to the desires. He said that Sudiksha’s father and grandfather remain ill and she was the biggest support of her family. He said that everything in the family has been shattered by Sudiksha’s death. The government should provide strict punishment to the people responsible for the incident and provide assistance of one crore rupees to the victim’s family.
