Netflix has finally announced the launch date for its cheapest, ad-supported subscription tier, along with details of exactly what this subscription will include.

The company has been working on an ad-supported level for some time now and Netflix has finally announced that the new “Basic with Ads” level will launch in Spain on November 10 at 5:00 p.m..

The new level will cost 5.49 euros per month and will be available in Spain, the United States, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico and the United Kingdom.

It won't come with the full library, however.

The basic level with ads will be limited to 720p/HD, just like basic Netflix plans. The company also says that users can expect an average 4 to 5 minutes of ads per hour They will have a duration of 15 or 30 seconds. Ads will play before and during series and movies.

Netflix has also revealed that some movies and series will not be available due to licensing restrictions, although he says he is working on this front. Additionally, users they will not be able to download titles.

The company has been touting a new level with advertising for months after disastrous financial results and declining subscription growth. Disney Plus is also working on launching a cheaper ad-supported plan.

Whether this cheaper offering lures users to Netflix remains to be seen, as the company is doing everything it can to find growth again, from cracking down on password sharing to focusing on mainstream hits.
