Bridgerton Season 3: Release Date, Cast, Storyline, And Everything You Need To Know

Since July, season 3 of Bridgerton has been in production, but it looks like the end may be near. Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, said this in a new interview with the Evening Standard (opens in new tab). She said, “It’s been one of the best things to happen to me.” “It makes me sad to think it’s over, but I’m glad I can finally sleep.”

We also understand that a few new cast members will be joining the tonne this time, and we know what the main storyline of season 3 will be. The love story of Penelope and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) will be told in Season 3. Based on Julia Quinn’s fourth book, “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” the Regency family has a lot of trouble ahead of them.

Bridgerton season 3

As we wait for Season 3 of Bridgerton, the Ton is full of excited chatter. The famous gossip girl Lady Whistledown hasn’t said when the hit Netflix romance will come back, and after the lengthy break between Seasons 1 and 2, we hope Season 3 will come a little faster. But we don’t know when the next Bridgerton episode will air, but we do know a lot about what to expect from the steamy period drama.

By the conclusion of Season 2, Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) were no longer friends. This was because Eloise found out that Penelope was the one who wrote a gossip column about her family’s scandals. To make things even tenser, Eloise’s relationship with Theo and Penelope’s crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) both fell apart.

When was Bridgerton season 3 announced?

The third season of Bridgerton was first confirmed back in April 2021. Plus, season 4 has already been announced, so that’s two good things.

Netflix announced the news on Facebook in a post that said, “Dear members of the Ton, it looks like we have something pretty important to tell you. For seasons 3 and 4, Bridgerton will be back. The writer will need to buy more ink… Lady Whistledown, Yours Truly.”

Bridgerton Season 3 cast

Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan, will be back, as will her boyfriend Colin, her ex-best friend Eloise, and other members of the Bridgerton family. However, Francesca’s part has been changed. Ruby Stokes’s role as the Bridgerton sister will be taken over by Hannah Dodd, since Stokes has moved on to star in Netflix’s Lockwood & Co.

Daniel Francis (Stay Close) will play Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips (The Crown) will play Lord Debling, and James Phoon (Wreck) will play Harry Dankworth. Hannah New will play Lady Tilley Arnold, a young widow who likes being in charge of her late husband’s estate because it gives her financial, social, and sexual freedom.

Daphne, played by Phoebe Dynevor, will not be in Season 3. Regé-Jean Page, who played the smouldering Duke of Hastings in Season 1 but left the show for Season 2, will also not be back for Season 3.

Bridgerton season 3 plot

The show Bridgerton is centered on Julia Quinn’s eight-book series about how each of the eight siblings finds love. Even though it seems likely that season 3 of Bridgerton will cover the third book in the series, the new showrunner Jess Brownell stated in a conversation with Variety that season 3 will skip to book 4 and focus on Colin and Penelope’s love story.

In season 2 of Bridgerton, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) started dating, which is the main plot of the fourth book in the romance series. In season 2, Penelope overheard Colin making fun of the idea of dating her in front of his friends, which put a pretty bad twist on their story.

Netflix released the official Season 3 synopsis below:

“From Shondaland and new showrunner Jess Brownell, Bridgerton is back for its third season and finds Penelope Featherington has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly.

“Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise, who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.”

When did Bridgerton season 3 start filming?

As of July 20, 2022, the third season is being made. Yes, the Featheringtons and Bridgertons are back, prancing around and doing plenty of deep, sexy breathing.

In the video announcing the movie, all of the main actors can be seen changing their fingers from a “2” to a “3.” Exciting! As it said in the official caption, “I see what looks like the start of a new social season. From what I can see, the third installment of Bridgerton seems to be in full swing.”

Where to watch Bridgerton?

Seasons 1 and 2 of Bridgerton can now be watched on Netflix. The third season will be out at a later time.

When will Season 3 of Bridgerton premier?

Netflix hasn’t said when season 3 of Bridgerton will be out. The first scene was shot in July 2022, and it looks like filming could end soon.

Let’s look at the schedules for the last few seasons to get an idea of when the episodes might be on Netflix. The first season of Bridgerton began filming in July 2019, ended at the end of February 2020, and came out in December 2020. Due to COVID, filming for the second season didn’t finish until November 2021, even though it started in March 2021. In March 2022, that season came out. From filming to release, both seasons of Bridgerton took about a year, so season 3 might not come out until at least the summer of 2023.

Who created Bridgerton Series?

Bridgerton is based on a collection of books by American author Julia Quinn. Shonaland, which is owned by Shonda Rhimes, made a version of it for Netflix. Chris Van Dusen, who made the show, won’t be back as showrunner for the next seasons of Bridgerton. Instead, Jess Brownell will take over anyway showrunner for season 3.
