Alice In Borderland Season 3: Release Date, Cast, Storyline, And Everything You Need To Know

The sci-fi show Alice in Borderland is back for a second season on Netflix, and all eight new episodes are now available to watch. In the new season, which is again based on the same-named manga series, Arisu, and Usagi are trying to solve the mystery of “Borderland” so they can go back to their real world. Along the way, they meet friends, enemies, and the “game’s” creator, all while trying to get back to their real world.

Alice in Borderland, a Japanese thriller show, was definitely picked up for a second season by Netflix just two weeks after its big debut in December 2020. Alice in Borderland’s second season started in December 2022, but Netflix still hasn’t ordered a third season. Is there going to be a Season 3 of Alice in Borderland?

Alice In Borderland Season 3 Renewed Or Canceled?

At the time this was written, Alice in Borderland hadn’t been picked up for a third season or canceled. People like the show, but Netflix hasn’t officially said whether or not it will be renewed. But fans are hoping that the show will come back soon for a third season because of how well it did and how big the cliffhanger at the conclusion of the second season was.

We don’t know for sure if Alice in Borderland will return for Season 3, but since Netflix renewed the show right after the first season, it seems likely that we’ll get to see more adventures soon.

Alice in Borderland season 3 cast: who would be back?

Without a clear answer on whether or not Alice in Borderland will come back for a third season, it’s hard to say who would come back. But we can be sure that the main characters Ryhei Arisu and Yuzuha Usagi, played by Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, will be back, along with most of the main characters from season 2.

Here is a full list of the main characters from season 2 who could come back for season 3:

  • Kento Yamazaki as Ryōhei Arisu
  • Tao Tsuchiya as Yuzuha Usagi
  • Nijiro Murakami as Shuntarō Chishiya
  • Ayaka Miyoshi as Ann Rizuna
  • Dori Sakurada as Suguru Niragi
  • Aya Asahina as Hikari Kuina
  • Yutaro Watanabe as Kōdai Tatta
  • Tsuyoshi Abe as Keiichi Kuzuryū
  • Sho Aoyagi as Morizono Aguni
  • Riisa Naka as Mira Kano

Alice in Borderland Season 3 Plot

Arisu and the other characters had more to lose in the season 2 finale than ever before. People can see why Arisu, who was the only one who could play in the final game, was able to drag Usagi along with him. Mira is the croquet in the last game, Queen of Hearts, and she almost gets the pair to believe that the whole world is a trick. But Usagi talks Arisu out of believing, and that’s how they ultimately disclose to each other how they feel.

Even though Mira won the game of croquet, she is later killed by the sky laser, and the other players are given the option of going back to the real world or staying in Borderland. Except for Banda and Yaba, the majority of the players choose to depart. When the players get back to the real world, they find that a meteor destroyed most of Tokyo and that none of them remember anything about what they did in Borderlands. Arisu also finds out that everyone who hadn’t died was taken back to Borderlands.

Arisu and Usagi run into each other again in the hospital, where the camera shows a table full of playing cards that are mysteriously blown away, leaving only the Joker card. If Alice in Borderland comes back for a third season, the plot will probably change a lot because there isn’t much material for them to work with. What’s on Netflix says that the Joker card displayed at the end of the series made a lot of hints about the Joker character, who is in the manga series but hasn’t been shown yet in the TV version.

Alice In Borderland Review & Recap

Arisu Ryohei doesn’t have a job, so he spends most of his time playing video games. One day, he meets up with two friends in the middle of Tokyo. After getting into some small trouble, they hide in a cubicle in a public bathroom. All of a sudden, the lights go out and they can’t hear the usual city sounds anymore.

When they come out of the cave, the city is empty. Soon after, they follow the signs to a building where they meet two girls. Here, they have to play a dangerous game before they can get a playing card.

They will have to play these games over and over again. Later, we meet Usagi, a good climber who eventually teams up with Usagi. As they look for a way to go back to their old lives, they learn more about the games and what the cards mean.

There is also a lot of fan service, like when characters wear beach clothes for reasons that will be explained in later episodes. It’s interesting to see how the relationships between the characters change, especially after our heroes who are still alive find a place with a lot of other players.
