Though it’s likely that how she lost the Saber to Moff Gideon will be discussed, the character’s appearance is entirely justified considering her close bond and relationship with Ahsoka.

Ahsoka made reference to her search for Grand Admiral Thrawn, a beloved villain from Star Wars Rebels who disappeared along with Jedi Ezra Bridger, in her appearance in The Mandalorian.
