The 0-0 in the top game at BFC Dynamo was the twelfth CFC game without defeat. The yellow-red card for Kilian Pagliuca was annoying.
Chemnitz – The floodlights are sparse, the lawn is soapy, the weather is wet and cold and disgusting – but the players let go of such adversities Chemnitz FC haven’t thrown off course for a long time!
On Friday evening they self-sacrificingly braced themselves against the impending defeat. Even outnumbered for the last 13 minutes. Then it was over. The 0-0 in the top game at BFC Dynamo was the twelfth CFC game without defeat.
As a reward, the sky blues are at the top of the table in the Northeast Regional League at least until Sunday. Erfurt (on Sunday, 4 p.m., against Meuselwitz) and Cottbus (on Monday, 8 p.m., against Lichtenberg) can still overtake Chemnitz on this matchday.
“Both teams had a top-class player. Otherwise, the game had few chances and the result was performance-based,” explained CFC coach Christian Tiffert (40) after the zero number in the Sportforum Hohenschönhausen.
0-0 at BFC – 12th CFC game in a row without defeat: Tiffert proud as Bolle!
The guests could live well with the draw, but not the Berliners. They missed the fourth win in a row. “We deserved the win,” said BFC head coach Heiner Backhaus.
Yellow-red for Kilian Pagliuca
The yellow-red card for Kilian Pagliuca, who will miss the catch-up game at Viktoria Berlin on Wednesday evening, was annoying from the perspective of the sky blues. In the 83rd minute, the Swiss went too hard into a header duel with Dominic Duncan.
“This warning is okay. I didn’t like the action in the first half,” Tiffert told TAG24 on Saturday.
Three minutes before the half-time whistle, Chris Reher apparently spoke a few ugly words in the direction of Pagliuca. Chemnitz’s uncontrolled reaction: He pushed the Berliner. He then fell theatrically to the ground.
Sports court has ruled: CFC kicker Kircicek suspended for three games
Last week, CFC attacker Furkan Kircicek saw a red card for a similar action against Aleksandar Bilbija from Greifswald. Pagliuca was lucky on Friday night. Referee Florian Markhoff only drew the yellow box.
Tiffert: “If he shows red, we’ll be outnumbered again for 60 minutes. But we want to play at full strength. That was an unnecessary move. We have to have a better grip on our emotions.”
