Eintracht welcomes SV Werder on Saturday. After the Cologne debacle, there should be three points at home. Meanwhile, SBU coach Glasner surprised with a statement.

Frankfurt am Main – Everyone awaits with great excitement unity cosmos the round of 16 first leg in the Champions League against SSC Napoli. Before that, however, Frankfurt must focus fully on the home game against Werder Bremen. While coach Oliver Glasner (48) mainly reminded of this, he had another potentially good message ready.

On the occasion of Saturday evening’s top game (6.30 p.m., Sky) in the Bundesliga, the SBU welcomes the SVW – a true traditional duel, which has already been marveled at 112 times in all competitions.

After the 0: 3 debacle at 1. FC Köln, Glasner put his finger in the wound again during the obligatory press conference and denounced what was particularly in need of improvement.

“50 percent of the goals we conceded came from set pieces. On average it’s 30 to 35 percent,” stated the Austrian and made it clear that in this area – like in almost every other area – “they don’t want to be the worst”.

In order not to approach the important home game against the North Germans too laxly, the football coach also strictly prohibited the diva from Main from talking about the highlight of the coming week during the training week.

They only talked about the game in Bremen, while “the coaching team has of course been busy with Naples for weeks”.

In terms of personnel, there could be a major shift in personnel with regard to the premier class at Frankfurt. Hrvoje Smolcic (22) and Kristijan Jakic (25) are definitely options.

Ultimately, Glasner also gave a small, extremely optimistic look at the personnel future. The injured Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe (22) could still be available for the final phase of the season.

Originally, it was assumed that the Frenchman would be out of action beyond the end of the season after he seriously injured his syndesmosis ligament in the 3-0 home win against Schalke 04 and even had to have an operation.

Now the turnaround: “Junior Dina Ebimbe is in the Champions League squad. We’re not expecting the season to end prematurely. Naples is definitely coming too early. If he progresses, he might even be an issue again,” said Glasner.

However, the trainer left it open (for the time being) how likely it would be to advance against the top of the table in Serie A.
