A boxer vomited in the ring after receiving a blow

The Venue at Coosa Landing Gadsden, Alabama (United States) was the site where the one of the most curious and unfortunate episodes of the weekend when boxer Greer Márquez lost by knockout to debuting Marquis Williams in a middleweight bout.

The end of the combat traveled the world but not because of what could have been a brutal combination or an accurate violent blow but because of the stomach problem suffered by the 26-year-old boxer after impact.

In the images published in Twitter by the user Tim Boxeo could see the moment when Márquez vomited inside the ring after suffering a left right combination and a blow to the plexus from Williams, who was making his official debut as a professional in the ring.

The match referee quickly asked Williams to go to his corner to assist his opponent, however, when he turned around and saw what was happening he called the fight off without hesitation.

“It looks like he’s throwing up, you’re talking about a bad case of indigestion”Said one of the commentators who was recounting the fight. Greer, was able to rejoin by his own means but he was seen staggering until he could hold on to the ropes. On the other side, Williams was celebrating his first victory as a professional boxer.

“Incredibly, Márquez Greer went to his knees very quickly, but He seemed to vomit at least twice.” reported the British portal The Sun. According to boxing rules, Greer lost via medical technical knockout, after suffering that accident inside the ring while he was fighting.

Unfortunately this was the fifteenth consecutive loss for the athlete from Jackson (Tennessee) during the same number of presentations that he had in the 6 years of his professional career. It is worth mentioning that with this one against Williams, it was lto number 13 in which he fell in the first round and his knockout adds to 14 others that Greer suffered.

Upon learning of these unfortunate statistics, the fans were quick to react. “That’s probably the cue to quit”, considered one on social networks. Despite the opinion of the users, the boxer seems determined to continue, especially because of his young age and because he does not believe that it is a time to retire.
