General ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross Will Return To The MCU, Reportedly played by Harrison Ford.
According to journalist Jeff Sneider, the Indiana Jones star will dress as Marvel’s infamous general after the death of the original actor, William Hurt.
“We have learned that Harrison Ford has, in fact, been cast as General Thunderbolt Ross, who is expected to make his first appearance in… CAPTAIN AMERICA 4,” Sneider said via Twitter.
The news has been confirmed by /Film, which has also added that Ford will appear in Thunderboltsthe new supervillain movie that will end Marvel’s Phase 5.
General Ross has already appeared in the MCUfirst in the 2008 movie, The Incredible Hulk, and then in Captain America: Civil War, the last two Avengers Infinity Saga movies, and Black Widow.
However, the original actor, William Hurt, passed away earlier this yearso Marvel had no choice but to make a replacement if they wanted Ross to appear in the Thunderbolts movie, something that was taken for granted.
For now, Ford’s role in upcoming films remains unclear, but the character ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross does tend to take on a role similar to that of Amanda Waller from The Suicide Squad in the comics. But there’s also a more fan-friendly version of Ross that could come…
A “Red Hulk” was mentioned in a recent episode of She-Hulk, and this is exactly what happens to Ross in the comics. Created as part of a super-soldier program by Intelligence (an organization that also appears in She-Hulk), the Red Hulk debuted in 2008. He soon became a fan favorite, as a more tactical and weapon-wielding Hulk.
However, Marvel’s Hulk roles often involve a lot of motion capture work… and it’s unclear whether or not Ford will don a motion capture suit to bring the Red Hulk to the big screen. In any case, It seems that ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross will return. Whether or not we’ll get the Red Hulk remains a mystery.
Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Thunderbolts movie and which characters will be part of the group.
