Nicolas wahling scored both goals in the 4th and 41st minutes in the home stadium of friendship.

After the disappointing 1-1 draw at ZFC Meuselwitz, FCE coach Pele Wollitz brought on four new players: Ali Abu-Alfa, Maximilian Oesterhelweg, Dennis Slamar and Timmy Thiele replaced Jan Shcherbakovski, Eric Hottmann (both on the bench), Axel Borgmann and Arnel, who was suspended with red Kujovic (both not in the squad).

Leipzig coach Miroslav Jagatic made two changes in defense compared to the 0-0 draw at SV Lichtenberg 47: Ben Kessler and Manuel Wajer stayed out for the time being, Philipp Harant and Paul Horschig started.

The Wollitz-Elf had the big chance in the catch-up of the 17th matchday due to Rot-Weiss Erfurt’s bankruptcy against VSG Altglienicke on Tuesday (0:2) to move up to one point behind the first-placed Thuringians.

After that it looked fast: Malcolm Badu with an exemplary cross from the inside right to the far post, where wahling slipped and completed it with a direct acceptance – 1:0 (4th).

Against the home team, who were already the best before kick-off, the guests were not impressed and stuck to their approach. And Manassé Eshele’s header after a deflected cross from Lucas Surek created an equalizer in the 13th minute, but goalkeeper Elias Bethke threw it out.

After Chemie failed to finish several promising attacks in the third away game in a row, the Brandenburgers struck again.

Abu Alfa was up on the left wing and made a deliberate pass across the penalty area, where wahling only had to put his foot out from six meters out – 2-0 (41 ‘). The straddling Philipp Wendt almost prevented the impact.

However, even after the second setback shortly before the change of sides, the BSG remained courageous and willing to attack, but no longer managed to put the ball in the opponent’s housing.

For the FCE it was an important trio in the close promotion race of the Regionalliga Nordost. The Leutzscher still slipped down one place to ninth with 33 points.

Cottbus has another home game on Saturday (1 p.m., Ostsport.TV), this time against the Berlin AK 07. Chemie only receives relegation candidate Meuselwitz on Sunday (1 p.m.).
