Revealed the details of the plot of The Penguin, spin-off series of The Batman, along with its female protagonist

Cristin Milioti has joined the HBO Max spin-off of The Penguin, where she will play Sofia Falcone.

Deadline has reported the casting news, stating that Milioti’s Sofia Falcone is Carmine Falcone’s daughter, and will fight with El Pingüino for control of the city. Fans will have recently seen different iterations of Sofia Falcone in both Gotham and Batman: The Long Halloween.

Cristin Milioti is known for appearing in How I Met Your Mother, as well as 2020’s Palm Springs, HBO Max’s Made for Love, and Peacock’s The Resort.

The Penguin spinoff on HBO Max comes from The Batman director Matt Reeves as one of several planned Batman villain spinoffs. Milioti will star opposite Colin Farrell’s Penguin, who is thrilled to return to the character after The Batman.

Farrell recently shared some details about the Penguin series, saying that it begins “about a week after The Batman movie ends, so Gotham is still kind of submerged…”

In a time of great change for DC, The Batman universe seems to be safe. In addition to the Penguin series, The Batman 2 appears to be moving forward with Reeves. It remains to be seen if the plan for future Batman projects changes at all now that James Gunn and Peter Safran take over the reorganization of DC Studios.
