Apparently Shawn Levy of Stranger Things is in talks to direct a star wars movie when I finish directing Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool 3.
As reported by Deadline, there are no further details on what kind of movie it will be, but it appears to be another one Lucasfilm is working on alongside other confirmed and rumored Star Wars movies from Damon Lindelof and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Taika Waititi, Patty Jenkins and Ryan Johnson.
Levy is currently in post-production on the Netflix limited series All The Light You Cannot See, directing four episodes of the series, and is also scheduled to direct at least two episodes of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
Deadpool 3 will be released on September 6, 2024 and it will bring to life the long-awaited dream union between Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
Levy has directed 10 episodes of Stranger Things so far, and has also directed The Adam Project, Free Guy, Night at the Museum and its two sequels, Full Steel, The Pink Panther, Home Twelve, and more.
Although numerous Star Wars television series have appeared on Disney+, currently the franchise has frozen its films in carbonite. It’s still unclear when a new Star Wars movie will be released.
The cast of The Acolyte, the new series that will head to Disney+, has also recently been confirmed.
