As the police announced on Wednesday with a time delay, five young men aged 17 to 23 were physically attacked after the football game on January 21.

After the game, they were waiting at the bus stop near McDonald’s to go back to Chemnitz when they were apparently attacked by previously unrecognized Aue supporters.

“We were attacked by a group of hooded Auer fans, there must have been ten to twelve men. They were all dressed in black, had on balaclavas and had put on leather gloves,” one of the young people concerned told the courier.

The attackers hit and kicked the injured and only let them go when they handed over their fan scarves to SpVgg Bayreuth.

Then the strangers disappeared. Information about the extent of the damage and the injuries is not yet available.
