Unterhaching – Regional League leader SpVgg Unterhaching wants a possible promotion to the 3rd football league not only depend on sporting aspects.
“The chances of promotion are three times 50:50. Firstly, the fight for first place in the league. Then the relegation – and then there are the licensing conditions,” said President Manfred Schwabl (56) of the German Press Agency.
The former Bundesliga club Unterhaching leads the table after 23 games with 57 points ahead of third division relegated Würzburger Kickers. The champion denies promotion games against the champion of the Northeast Regional League.
For the Hachinger team coached by Sandro Wagner (35), the game continues on February 24th with an away game against the amateurs of FC Bayern Munich.
Why two Berlin Oberliga clubs exchanged eight players during the winter break!
The course for a possible promotion will be set promptly. “We will apply for the license and then discuss in detail in the committees whether we would play in the third division if the worst came to the worst,” said Schwabl.
“We will certainly not embark on any adventures in Unterhaching that jeopardize the infrastructure or the youth field. Youth and infrastructure are the most important assets we have as a club.”
Incidentally, in the future not only football will be played in the Hachinger Sportpark. The Munich Ravens announced that they would like to play their home games in the European League of Football at the sports park.
“We are happy to have found a strong partner in SpVgg Unterhaching and a great home in Sportpark Unterhaching,” said Sebastian Stolz, General Manager of the Ravens. “We look forward to working closely and in partnership with Spielvereinigung in the years to come.”
The Munich Ravens’ first home game in their first season will take place on June 4th. Opponents are the Raiders Tirol.
