The art of Star Wars: The High Republic is written by Kristin Baver and features a plethora of character designs and concept art of High Republic artists such as Phil Noto, Iain McCaig, Ario Anindito, Harvey Tolibao, Petur Antonsson and Jeffrey Thomas. Since much of the High Republic saga has been narrated in prose form, this artbook offers a valuable opportunity to see these characters come to life and put faces to the many names that occur in the novels.

In addition to this concept art, the book also includes interviews with writers from the High Republic like Charles Soule, Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older and Cavan Scott. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy writes the foreword. This is the first volume in a planned series, covering the characters and conflicts of Phase 1 of the High Republic saga.
Lucasfilm is set to kick off Phase 2 of the High Republic saga in the coming weeks. Phase 2 is intended to be a new starting point for readers, going back even further in the Star Wars timeline.
High Republic era soon will expand into live-action series with Star Wars: Acolyte, by Leslye Headland, which will star Amandla Stenberg, from The Hunger Games. Headland has teased that Acolyte is framed from the “bad guy’s perspective.”
