Shazam: Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg has shared a backstage photo to celebrate its completion DC’s next sequel.
Sandberg declared that Shazam: Fury of the Gods is officially over by sharing a sneak peek of Zachary Levi’s character in action. “Done! Now a little free time”, tweeted the filmmaker next to an image of Billy Batson dressed as his superpowered alter ego, wielding a magic staff in the middle of a lightning-lit stadium.

The film will see the Shazam family (established at the end of the first film) juggling their normal lives with their superhero status before two goddesses (Helen Mirren’s Hespera and Lucy Liu’s Kalypso) visit the world and cause some mischief. problems. Therefore, Shazam 2 is expected to have more “adult interests and problems” than the original children’s film.
Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see how it all pans out in the Shazam sequel, as Warner Bros. Discovery recently pushed back the film’s release date, moving it from its previous December spot to March 17, 2023. Fury of the Gods will therefore arrive several months after its spin-off, Black Adam, which premiered on the big screen in October.
Despite being a nemesis in the comics, It doesn’t look like Shazam and Black Adam are going to cross paths anytime soon.. Sandberg revealed earlier this year that he hadn’t talked about pitting Zachary Levi’s Shazam against Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, but the latter might end up having enough trouble with the return of Henry Cavill’s Superman.
