The Last of Us confirms its premiere date on HBO Max and shows a new official poster


After leaking, HBO Max has confirmed the premiere date of the long-awaited series of The Last of Us on the platform next to the number of episodes that its first season will have.

The first season of The Last of Us will premiere on HBO Max next Monday January 16, 2023and will have a total of nine episodes.

The official news comes just one day after several users from different territories discovered on the main page of HBO Max, as part of the promotional images of the series, the release date of The Last of Us. Indeed, these reports were true, as they indicated that the premiere of the series would take place on January 15 or 16 (depending on the time zone).

No additional information about The Last of Us has been provided, other than that it will be viewable in 4K resolution. Although not explicitly stated, it seems that the season will be available in full from January 16 and there will not be a weekly premiere of each episode as has happened with other series on the platform such as La Casa del Dragón.

The Last of Us will feature the scripts of Craig Mazin (creator of the Chernobyl series) and Neil Druckmann, director of The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Part II, the two video games in the saga that have appeared so far.
