The real reason Henry Cavill seems to have left The Witcher

It has been, without a doubt, one of the news of the year (and one of the most unexpected). Henry Cavill will no longer be Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher series after its third season, not yet released, and He will give his place to Liam Hemsworth for a fourth season of the series it has just been renovated.

Nevertheless, we did not know the real reasons for the departure of Henry Cavillalthough many pointed to the possibility that his newly announced return as Superman was the main reason, while others pointed to creative differences with the series team.

Everything is simpler than it seems and various sources claim that Henry Cavill simply ended his contract with Netflix after three seasons (which is usual), and the negotiations did not go well for a renewal.

According to Heroic Hollywood, their sources have indicated that Henry Cavill’s departure from The Witcher after its third season has nothing to do with his recently announced return as Superman, since the character’s next film, a sequel to The Man of Steel, is so it is only in the early stages of development and should not occupy your immediate time. However, given his star status, an increase in salary is likely to be the most reasonable explanation.

Taking into account his condition, Henry Cavill could renew his contract as the protagonist of The Witcher for a very high amount (probably one of the highest on the platform), something that Netflix has not wanted to accept.

However, despite what these sources indicatethere has been no official comment neither by Henry Cavill nor by Netflix beyond those initial statements after hearing the news.
