Avatar: The Sense of Water has been released with an impressive gross of 435 million dollars all over the world.
As reported by Variety, Avatar: The Water Sense was secured third biggest world opening weekend during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now ranks behind only Doctor Strange’s $442 million in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home’s $600 million.
Given these figures, it is clear that the results of Avatar: The Sense of Water are absolutely spectacular, but maybe less than high expectations. In addition, you have to consider its huge budget and the statements of James Cameron, who stated that it should become the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history to be profitable. He still has time to deliver, and these figures only portend a spectacular final box office figure for the sequel.
Avatar, from 2009, managed to raise 2,920 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time. The original film stayed at the top spot for seven consecutive weeks.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever takes second place after five weeks at the top of the box office and has already managed to raise 786.5 million worldwide.
