Berlin – The 1. FC Union Berlin continues to rely on Michael Gspurning (41) as goalkeeping coach.
As the Bundesliga club announced on Wednesday, the contract with the 41-year-old was extended. No information was given about the new term.
“The good performances of our goalkeepers are also the result of his work and we are therefore pleased that we can continue to count on Michael’s services,” managing director Oliver Ruhnert (51) was quoted as saying in a statement from the club.
The Austrian Gspurning switched from Schalke 04 to Union in 2016 and ended his active career as a goalkeeper there the following year. Since then he has worked as a goalkeeper coach for the Irons.
They had contracts with head coach Urs Fischer (56) and his assistant Markus Hoffmann Berliner extended last September.
