IGN exclusively reveals the final poster for the upcoming DC movie, Shazam! The fury of the godswhich opens in theaters on March 17.
The new poster, which you can check out below, shows Zachary Levi incarnated as the superhero facing off against antagonists Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler as the Daughters of Atlas: Hespera, Kalypso, and Anthea, respectively.
here it is a new official synopsis which sheds light on what the Daughters of Atlas are after:
“Endowed with the powers of the gods, Billy Batson and his foster companions are still learning to juggle adolescence with their adult superhero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient goddesses, arrive on Earth Searching for the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy -Shazam- and his family find themselves locked in a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.
Also featured on the poster are Djimon Hounsou, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, DJ Cotrona and Grace Caroline Currey. And though they don’t make an appearance on the final poster, Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer reprise their roles as teen Billy Batson and Freddy Freeman.
Director David F. Sandberg gets behind the camera again for the sequel, from a script by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan. The film is produced by Peter Safran, the new head of DC Films along with James Gunn.
A bunch of new posters for Shazam: The Fury of Gods were also recently shown, and its new trailer was confirmed to be coming later this month, so it’s probably on the way.
