Wednesday’s premiere breaks Netflix records and even surpasses Stranger Things 4: the figures

Wednesday, the Addams Family spin-off, has already broken records on Netflix with the most hours watched in a single week of any Netflix TV series in history.

The hit TV series starring Jenna Ortega in the role of Wednesday Addams has already racked up a whopping 341.2 million hours vieweddespite having been released last week.

“Being an outcast has never been more IN, as Wednesday, the supernatural-tinged mystery series chronicling Wednesday Addams’ years at Nevermore Academy, debuted at #1 with a record 341.2 million hours watched. “Netflix confirmed in a statement.

The Addams Family’s value.

As if that number weren’t already impressive enough, it seems that Wednesday has even managed to unseat Stranger Things from first place.

“The series now holds the record for hours watched in a week for an English-language television series on Netflix. Starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, with an impressive cast of characters and directed and executive produced by Tim Burton, with the showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, the series was #1 in 83 countries, tied with Stranger Things 4.”

Stranger Things has recently broken global viewership records, racking up a whopping 1.15 billion hours in its first 28 days on the service.

It remains to be seen if Wednesday can top that impressive number.

Nevertheless, the series is off to a great start: the week of its premiere is already achieving record numbers and, with an impressive performance, it seems that this series could have a long way to go.

“Ortega’s ability to act with her eyes and the choice to save the few emotional moments for when they really matter make Miércoles an effective protagonist,” we commented in our review that you can read here.
