The new CEO of DC Studios along with Peter Safran, James Gunn, has taken to Twitter and shared that Zack Snyder has contacted him to “express his support” about Gunn’s decisions regarding the new DCU.
The nature of their conversation was revealed after a Twitter user responded to an image that Gunn posted of Swamp Thing with the hashtag “#sellthesnyderversetonetflix” (Sell the Snyderverse to Netflix). yes it seems there are still those who cling to the hope that Zack Snyder’s Snyderverse will return somehow now that DC is heading in a new direction.
“I have to say this has got to be the craziest hashtag ever since 1) Netflix hasn’t expressed any interest (although we’ve talked about other things) and 2) Zack hasn’t expressed any interest and seems to be happy doing whatever is doing (and, yes, we have also spoken)”, answered Gunn.
Another user asked him what he and Snyder were talking about when their chat took place, and Gunn shared that his talk was positive and that Zack Snyder seems happy with what he is working on these days.
“He contacted me to express his support for my decisions,” Gunn wrote. “He’s a great guy. Again, he seems genuinely happy with the massive world building he’s doing now.”
