Monsoon session of Parliamen: Monsoon session of Parliament has started from today, amidst the ongoing Coronavirus in the country. In this 18-day Parliament session, all the norms of protection from corona will be followed. In view of the corona, special preparations have been made for the monsoon session. Many things are happening for the first time in this session, including the meeting of the two houses in the morning and evening shifts and there is not a single holiday in the session. On the other hand, PM Modi spoke to reporters before the start of the session. Explain that special preparations have been made for the 18-day Parliament session. Many things are happening for the first time in this session, including the meeting of the two houses in the morning and evening shifts and there is not a single holiday in the session. Only those who enter the Parliament complex will be allowed to have a report confirming no Kovid-19 infection (COVID-19) and people will be required to wear masks during this period.
Most of the work will be done digitally
Before the start of the session, more than 4,000 people, including MPs and parliament employees, have been screened for Kovid-19. This time most of the parliamentary work will be done in a digital way and the doors will be made touch-free along with making the entire campus transition-free. This time special meeting arrangements have been made for MPs under the guidelines of social distancing.
Rajya Sabha proceedings in the morning session
Except for the first day of the session, the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha will be conducted in the morning shift from 9 am to 1 pm, while the Lok Sabha will sit from 3 pm to 7 pm. The chambers and galleries of the two houses will be used to seat members in both shifts. The entire campus between the two shifts will be infection free.
SOP takes full care of
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu held series meetings with officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health, ICMR and DRDO to make the entire Parliament complex a safe zone in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic. As per the standard operating procedures (SOP) set during the monsoon session from September 14 to October 1, MPs, Secretariat personnel of both the Houses and media persons covering the proceedings have been asked to conduct the Corona Test. And this investigation should not be more than 72 hours before the commencement of the session.
