James Gunn has reaffirmed his position on the possible appearance of the cast of Marvel actors in DC movies, stating that his priority is to find the actors who best fit the roles and who are easy to work with.

A user of Twitter reminded James Gunn of a comment he made about the possibility of casting Marvel actors in DC projects. Person implored the director to find “fresh actors” instead of encouraging his Guardians of the Galaxy cast to “follow” the DCEU.

In response, Gunn stated that they are addressing the casting process. with an open mind and that focus on choosing the actors based on their suitability for the roles.

“We have hundreds of roles to choose from. As I’ve always done, some will be new faces, some will be actors I’ve worked with before, and some will be well-known actors I’ve never worked with,” Gunn wrote. “What matters most to me is the actor fits the role and is easy to work with“.

Gunn expressed his love for the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy in a recent interview with Empire magazine, hinting that their work time might not end if they take a role in the DCEU.

Gunn and Peter Safran’s master plan for the DCEU has started to gain a bit more clarity in recent months, but not all concerns have been entirely allayed. In particular, some fans they have worried that their favorite characters will not make the cut.

Fortunately for fans of the Last Son of Krypton, Gunn has already confirmed that Superman is one of the studio’s most pressing issues as they step into this new era (albeit without Henry Cavill).

DCEU fans should expect a lot of big announcements in the wake of this universe’s new leadership. More news is expected very soon, as Gunn has confirmed on Twitter what part of the DC catalog will be revealed before the end of the month.
