Tons of DC fans are excited that James Gunn and Peter Safran are the new leaders of DC Studios, including Aquaman star Jason Momoa.
Speaking to ET Canada (via Variety), Momoa shared the reasons why he is looking forward to the new direction of DCincluding a mysterious sneak peek.
“With Peter Safran and Mr. Gunn now at the helm at DC I’m very excited,” Momoa said. “A lot of great things are going to come out. And one of my dreams come true is happening right under his watch, so stay tuned.”
We don’t know exactly what Momoa is referring to when he says that one of his dreams will come true, so that’s definitely something to watch out for. The actor will star in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2023, but his place in the DC universe beyond that is currently a mystery. Whether Momoa is referring to a third Aquaman movie, another Justice League-style crossover, or something else entirely remains to be seen.
There are many rumors surrounding the new leaders of DC, including Superman himself, Henry Cavill. Speaking of Gunn, Cavill said “I’m very excited for him to be there and very excited for any future opportunities we can work on together.”
As for Gunn and Safran’s plans, Gunn has said that DC is currently working on telling the “greatest story ever told” across multiple projects. Though it may be a while before we know what the studio’s long-term plans are, we think DC is in good hands, commenting that James Gunn is the best news the DCEU could have asked for.
