Part of the Vulture’s suit from Sam Raimi’s canceled Spider-Man 4 is shown for the first time

Sadly, Spider-Man 4 never made it to production… but after almost 15 years, it’s finally We have been able to see something of the villain of the film: the Vulture.

Comic book writer Ken Penders has revealed in Twitter the mechanical wings of the villaina handy accessory that would have appeared in the missing Spider-Man 4.

“Before Tobey and Sam were fired by Sony, work had already started on SPIDER-MAN 4,” he revealed. “I visited some friends who were working on the Vulture costume for actor John Malkovich. Once production closed, all the materials were delivered. I sat on this for almost 15 years.”

The Vulture recently made his MCU debut as Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, this iteration of the classic Marvel villain featured CGI wings.

Spider-Man 4 was a different story, as it required you to Malkovich put on this beautiful mechanical outfit.

Unfortunately, it was never done. The film was eventually canceled by Sony.leading to a reboot starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man.

What happened to the wings? Well, surprisingly, they were sold online and ended up on display at the Edmonton Prop Museum in 2019.

As for the designer who worked on them, he was also responsible for Maguire’s costumes in Spider-Man 3.

“He was also responsible for making Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man suits in SPIDER-MAN 3,” added Penders. “He said the web pattern on the suit was the hardest thing to do.”

According to concept artist Jeffrey Henderson, Spider-Man 4 Would Have Featured A Handful Of Classic Spider-Man Villainsincluding “a montage of C and D-list villains we knew would never be used as main antagonists: Mysterio, Shocker, Prowler, the old-school version of the pajama-wearing Rhino, maybe even Strider, etc.”

Returning to the UCM, Michael Keaton has recently reprized the role of Adrian Toomes aka Vulture in Morbius. However, it’s unclear how he will influence Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man plans.
