Avatar: The Water Sense has officially become in the sixth film in history to have grossed $2 billion at the worldwide box office. James Cameron has already managed three of his films to reach this impressive milestone.
As reported by Variety, Avatar: The Sense of Water now sits alongside other movies with $2 billion in revenue, such as Cameron’s Avatar and Titanic, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
While it’s impressive that Cameron’s films account for half of the top $2 billion films at the global box office, it’s also an incredible feat. that the actress Zoe Saldaña has participated in four of them: In both Avatar movies as Neytiri and in both Avengers movies as Gamora.
Avatar: The Sense of Water is also getting closer to realizing Cameron’s pre-release remarks that this sequel had to be the “third or fourth highest-grossing movie ever” to turn a profit.
With a global gross of 2,020 million dollars in just six weeksis one step away from surpassing the highest-grossing films of all time that are in fourth and fifth place, and they are Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.07 billion) and Avengers: Infinity War ($2.04 billion).
Variety also notes that certain analysts believe the film he only needed to raise $1.5 billion to make a profit but, be that as it may, Avatar: The sense of water continues to rise like foam.
He still has a long way to go to reach the top of Avatar, film that managed to raise 2,900 million dollarsand slightly less to top the $2.19 billion for Titanic and the $2.79 billion for Avengers: Endgame.
Avatar earned another $20 million at the North American box office, already grossing $598 million in North America. Internationally, has raised another 1.4 million dollars.
Following the North American box officewe see that Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is in second place with 11.5 million dollars, M3GAN in third place with 9.8 million dollars, Missing managed to raise 9.3 million dollars and placed in fourth place , and The World’s Worst Neighbor rounded out the top five with $9 million.
