Disney+ has finally shared the first trailer for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special, and like all good Christmas specials, it’s about friends helping each other out. Peter is still sad after the events surrounding Gamora after Avengers: Endgame and it is Drax and Mantis who cheer him up bringing his childhood hero, Kevin Bacon.

Kevin Bacon is a throwback to the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie in which Peter made references to the movie Footloose. Not content to let it be a one off joke, it looks like the Christmas special will focus on Drax and Mantis’ plan to kidnap or capture Kevin Bacon as a gift for Peter.
To do this, Mantis and Drax travel to Earth, where they will undoubtedly be involved in all kinds of mischief and revelry.
Other characters like Nebula, Rocket, Groot, and Kraglin will also appear in the special, but it looks like this will be a special focused on Drax and Mantis from the trailer.
James Gunn previously called the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special an “epilogue” to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is scheduled to end with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Afterwards, Phase 5 will begin with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which premiered its first trailer this week.
