Millions of viewers will gather this Sunday, February 12, to see the match between the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles, Who will compete for the trophy? Vince Lombardi in it Super Bowl LVII (57°), which will intersect with the presentation Half-Time of the iconic Robyn Rihanna Fentybetter known as Rihanna.

The interpreter of hits like Umbrella, Love on the Brain, Love the Way You Lie y Stay is back after 6 years away from the stage and he does it in a big way, in one of the most important atmospheres in the world of sports, as is the half time of the Super Bowl in its 2023 edition.

The return of the one born in Barbados has monopolized a large part of the front pages, to such an extent that it has come to overshadow, at times, the most important party for the National Football League (NFL). This fact is not an isolated case, since in previous editions the guest artist has stolen the spotlightSuch have been the cases of The Weekend o eminem in the latest shows Half-Time.

In this sense, it is very likely that for the Super Bowl LVII Rihanna’s return marked high ratings at audience levels when it came out on the plethoric stage that will be installed inside the State Farm Stadium, in the city of Phoenix, Arizona.

It is for reason, in infobae We set out to compile some of the most important basic rules of American football so that fans of Rihanna who wish to follow the transmission from the beginning do not feel so far removed from the sports context that will crown the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles.

An American football game is played between two teams. 11 players on offense and 11 on defense. It takes place on a 100-yard field divided by horizontal lines that give the appearance of grate. The field is made up of 120 yards: 100 to develop plays and 20 for scoring, 10 on each side and for each team.

American football teams are usually large, each one is made up of 45 players, but only 11 can be on the field, and it is also divided into offensive, defensive and special teams. The objective is for the former to score points, while the latter avoid scores from the opposing team.

The match is played with an oval ball, called ovoidwhich serves to be thrown into the air with ease.

By regulation, the game time is divided into four periods (rooms) 15 minutes each, divided into two for each half. Clock time is counting down; the longest pause -moment in which the Half-Timeit occurs between the second and third quarters, where 15 minutes are offered for the players to rest.

In American football the total time of the game can last up to 3 hours due to the pauses that are made when a player with the ball leaves the field, there is an incomplete pass, a team calls a timeout (they have three in each half), when the offense changes, a team scores, a referee calls a penalty, the coach calls for a play review (may be twice in each half).

As well as in the two-minute break -which happens in the second and last quarter of each game-. At the end of each quarter and after the second quarter when there is a 15-minute break.

Each team has four chances or downs to try to move the ball into the end zone. To keep the ball, you have to advance at least 10 yards, because if you don’t, you must deliver it to the opposing team. Within the American there are three ways to add to the board:

Touchdown: The ball has to reach the end zone, either in the hands of the player who runs towards the place or because the ball is caught while inside the zone. This is worth 6 points and then you have the option of scoring an extra point by kicking the ball between the posts or two points with a conversion, which refers to one play.

Field goal: Its value is 3 points and it is when the kicker puts the ball between the posts.

Safety: It is worth 2 points and is when a defensive player is stopped in their own end zone.

Interception: When the quarterback he throws a pass to his receiver, but an opponent manages to intercept the delivery without letting it fall to the grass. Sometimes the defender who stole the ball can steal the ball and run the other way into the end zone, getting a touchdown.

Loose ball: A player in possession of the ball can lose it due to carelessness or a hit from an opponent, this event is called Fumble and the ovoid will be free so that any player can take it, if a defensive player takes it and he does not touch the grass, he has the opportunity to run in the opposite direction and score for his team.

Runners: They directly receive the ball from the QB to make a play and add yards.

Receivers: The fastest and most agile of the team, they capture the passes that the QB throws to get a Touchdown or advance yards.
