Ayo Edebiribreakout star The Bear, joins Marvel’s Thunderbolts in an undisclosed roleaccording to Deadline Hollywood.
Joins a star-studded cast which also includes Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), David Harbor (Red Guardian), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster), Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost) and Wyatt Russell (United States Agent).
Jake Schreier will direct, while Eric Pearson, from Thor: Ragnarok and Black Widow, will write the script. Thunderbolts is currently scheduled for a July 26, 2024 release. as the penultimate film in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which kicks off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania next month.
The Bear premiered on Disney+ last year to critical acclaim, following the fights inside a Chicago meat sandwich shop. While much of the spotlight has focused on Jeremy Allen White’s performance as a chef who leaves haute cuisine to run the restaurant following the tragic death of his brother, Edebiri has also garnered acclaim as Sydney Adamu, a talented young chef. and ambition, although with less experience. She has been nominated for Gotham Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards and Independent Spirit Awards for her role, and she is also expected to be nominated for Emmys.
