Dresden – More black and yellow is not possible! For a long time die-hard fans of Dynamo Dresden wait for your own tram. Presented on Wednesday club and DVB finally a new piece of jewelry that will not only transport the people of Dresden to the stadium, but to the whole city.
Number “2622” is undoubtedly not the first track to roll through the Saxon state capital with dynamo stickers – but it is the prettiest one so far.
Almost completely in black and under the motto “Dynamo is Dresden. Dresden is Dynamo”, the train will run through Dresden in the future. The Dresden skyline is immortalized along the windows, and if you take a closer look you can also see the club’s mission statement in fine, dark gray letters on the deep black background.
The middle part of the car bears the current anniversary logo and commemorates the 70th anniversary of the SGD. Whether this will be changed back to the usual logo after this year or whether the yellow 70 should remain on “2622” in the future is still open.
Debut goal to victory: Dynamo stroke of luck Lemmer is recommended for higher tasks!
The fact that the beginning and end of the track are lit up in the usual yellow of the transport company has a simple but important reason – and that is safety. Especially in the dark, the yellow is simply much easier to see for pedestrians and drivers, according to the DVB spokesman Falk Lösch (57).
The 57-year-old gave an outlook on which lines the train will run in the future. “In general, of course, she can drive anywhere,” says Loesch. But they will be used above all where their type is used particularly often – and that is on the 8, 9, 10, 12, 13 and maybe occasionally on the 1 and 4. With lines like the 3 or 11 you have a higher number of passengers, which is why one usually resorts to larger trains.
The only question that remains to be clarified is what the heads of DVB and SGD said about the new railway. While Dynamo’s commercial director Jürgen Wehlend (57) was more than satisfied at the symbolic handover and thanked him for the good partnership, DVB board member Lars Seiffert (53) said: “The two most important yellow people in Dresden come together here.”
And added with a wink to the selected fans who were allowed to be part of the first ride: “Please make sure that nobody breaks the track.”
