Seven of the ten teams of Formula 1 They already presented their cars for this season and this Monday it was the turn of McLaren y Aston Martin. The first, with renewed decoration and with a tribute to the 60 years of its foundation. The second does not offer major changes, although it should be remembered that the cars usually have modifications once they go out on the track for their pre-season tests, just like at the start of the championship.

The MCL60 honors six decades since its birth when the remembered Bruce McLaren he created the team that later became one of the most important in the history of the Máxima. The brand new monoposto added black in its color combination in which the traditional orange predominates. The car, which will be driven by the English Lando Norris and the Australian Oscar Piastri (debutante), presented innovations to return to the victory that he has not achieved since Italy 2021 when Daniel Ricciardo won, although it should be remembered that that day they collided in the fight for the lead Max Verstappen (Red Bull) y Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes).

In the first impression it is noticed that the pontoons (sides of the car) are similar to those of Red Bull, either due to the air intake and the large lower channel on the ground. In addition, there is a pronounced drop in that lower area of the car. While in the front suspensions it retains the Pull-rod scheme, in which the bar working with traction can be thinner, which allows lowering the weight of the unsprung mass, an important issue in this class of cars.

“We are delighted to introduce our team with Lando and Oscar behind the wheel as we celebrate 60 years of McLaren Racing. This year’s driver line-up is extremely exciting,” said team boss Zak Brown. His squad finished fifth in the 2022 World Constructors’ Championship.
