After being attacked by sheepherder Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) in the shocking finale of Episode Three, Harrison Ford’s character Jacob Dutton is recovering, and Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren) has asked her nephew Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) to stop hunting big game in Africa and return home to protect his family’s ranch. While his nephew Jack narrowly escaped the attack, one of his brothers, John Dutton Sr. (James Badge Dale), perished. A wealthy business entrepreneur played by Timothy Dalton’s Donald Whitfield is helping Creighton strengthen his soldiers as well.

“I took the jobs on both of them without a script because I had faith that the folks who came up with the projects would provide me with a solid script. 1923 was a lot more work than I had anticipated, but I wholeheartedly believe it was worth it. I’m eager to perform both for a second season, he declared.
What Can We Expect from 1923 Season 2?
Since the first arc of 1923 is still only approximately halfway complete, not much is known about the route that Season Two will take. Even now, it’s unclear exactly who will survive Season One. What is certain, though, is that Spencer appears to have a significant role in the upcoming episodes.

It’s the one wonderful thing about the Dutton family; you can skip generations and put those in all these unusual situations, and it doesn’t have anything to do with Yellowstone, nothing to do with 1883, and yet it’s tethered completely to them, but they’re all stand-alone. That’s what I find so intriguing about it, Taylor said to Deadline.
Therefore, perhaps season 3 of 1923 will be replaced with 1953 or something. They might actually accomplish that, or something very similar. Taylor was reportedly contemplating the 1940s and 1960s as potential settings for subsequent prequels, according to a Deadline article from when they first revealed the two-season renewal for 1923.
