James Gunn, new CEO of DC Studios, has responded to the results of IGN’s latest survey, advancing that five of the ten most requested characters by IGN’s audience to be part of the DCU could be the following in joining the connected universe.

Gunn responded on his Instagram Stories to the results of the poll, in which Dick Grayson (Nightwing) ranked number one. They are followed by Martian Manhunter, Wolf, Brainiac, Deathstroke, Jason Todd (Robin/Red Hood), Zatanna, Court of Owls, Mr. Freeze and John Constantine.”

Although he did not specify anything, he cheered DC fans around the world by saying: “Will 5 out of 10 do?“.

It’s important pointing that this is not a confirmationsince things can change at any moment and it could be Gunn just having fun, but he has been quite open on social networks in response to questions about this new phase of DC.

If we look at the list, we know that Keanu Reeves will return for Constantine 2 and it’s been rumored galore that Jason Momoa could become the bounty hunter Lobo while a new actor picks up the trident and takes on the role of Aquaman.

It has also been confirmed that other members of the Batfamily will be part of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, so could be the perfect entry point for Nightwing and Red Hood. Peter Safran, DC CEO along with James Gunn, even said they wanted to feature these currently unconfirmed Batfamily members, “only because we feel they’ve been left out of the Batman stories in movies for too long.”

Martian Manhunter has appeared in the Arrowverso series and finally made it to the DCEU in Zack Snyder’s Justice League after Harry Lennix’s General Calvin Swanwick was revealed to be him all along. However, many fans want to see more of the character, and this could be the perfect time.

Brainiac also plans his big debut in live action and, considering that he is one of Superman’s biggest villains, he could well be the main antagonist of Superman: Legacy, which will hit theaters on July 11, 2025 and kick off chapter 1 of the new DCU, titled Gods & Monsters (Gods and monsters).

As for the others, We recently saw The Court of Owls in Gotham Knights with NightwingZatanna had a series in the works but was recently scrapped on HBO Max, Mr. Freeze was last seen in a live-action movie in Batman & Robin played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Deathstroke was played by Joe Manganiello in the post-credits scene of Justice League and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, but he hasn’t had his full coming-out party under the spotlight yet.
