On Monday, Bobic filed an action for protection against dismissal against Hertha BSC GmbH & Co. KGaA. “Both against an ordinary and an extraordinary termination,” said press spokeswoman Andrea Baer on Tuesday of the German Press Agency. Bobic did not want to comment on request. The “Bild” newspaper had previously reported.

According to the court spokeswoman, the first division club Bobic gave notice on January 28 of this year, after Hertha lost 2-0 to city rival Union Berlin, with effect from April 30, 2023.

On February 10th there was an extraordinary termination, which is also often referred to as without notice. The 51-year-old defends himself against both processes with an action for protection against unfair dismissal. According to the court spokeswoman, the plaintiff said that there was nothing to justify the termination.

Hertha had already informed the dpa last week after the first reports on the case: “Please understand that we do not comment on contractual matters in public, but of course we are trying to find an amicable solution.” The club wanted to leave it at that, it said on Tuesday.

According to the spokeswoman, a court date has not yet been scheduled. Normally, a conciliation hearing is scheduled at the labor court within three to four weeks

“In this case, it could also be that the question arises as to whether the labor court is responsible,” said Baer. Background: Since it is about a managing director post, a civil chamber at the Berlin Regional Court could also be responsible.

The spokeswoman explained that this was handled differently by those involved.
