Frankfurt am Main – Eintracht Frankfurt defeated in a Tuesday night thrilling Hessen derby the SV Darmstadt 98 with 4:2 (2:2). A certain Randal Kolo Muani (24) was once again responsible for this on the pitch as a double goal scorer. For this he earned a lot of praise from a world champion.
Thanks to the rousing DFB Cup round of 16 against the Lilies, the SGE is in the round of the last eight. “He brings an incredible quality, especially in the end. He gives our game a lot,” Mario Götze (30) later ennobled one of Kolo Muani’s strengths on the microphones.
Once again, the French national player played a major role in the success of his Adlerträger. When he scored his first goal of the evening, he spiraled up into the air after a soft cross from Aurelio Buta (25) and headed the ball into the far corner over 98 keeper Marcel’s shoes.
Muani’s second goal showed his pure dynamism in attack and dribbling, when he was sent down the middle line by Götze, inimitable attacked and made the 4-2 decision in the 90th minute.

“We’re enjoying it with him. He’s a sensationally good player and makes it easy for the team,” ex-world champion Götze enthused about his colleague, who incidentally also helped Daichi Kamada (26) lead 3-2 in the meantime Headrest prepared.
For Frankfurt’s head coach Oliver Glasner (48), however, it was Götze himself who towered over everyone: “Mario was the best man on the pitch. He’s in excellent shape.”
The Rio World Cup hero sees the feel-good factor at Eintracht and in Frankfurt as the main reason for his great performances: “It has worked very well in the past few months. The package is great. It’s also important for my family.”
Officially, by the way, Kolo Muani was actually voted player of the game by the DFB, even if Glasner had a different opinion in this case.
