Emma Roberts reveals new details about Madame Web, the new movie in the Spider-Man universe: “it will not be what you expect”

Actress Emma Roberts has given more details about the next film starring Madame Web, clarifying that the character she plays is “not a superhero”.

As Heroic Hollywood points out, Emma Roberts was part of one of the last Shut Up Evan podcasts, where she talked about the character he plays in the Madame Web movie. As he explains, contrary to what one might think, his character has no powers.

“All I can say is that I’m not a superhero,” Roberts began by explaining. “Some people may think I’m a superhero, but no. I have no supernatural powers“.

Roberts took advantage of the interview to express how great the Madame Web movie will be: “It’s really different from the other Marvel movies, it’s very strong. I love that it has so many great actresses, it’s really female-driven, and I think it will not be what people expect“.

The new spin-off of Spider-Man will focus in counting the story of madame web (also known as Cassandra Webb). The character first appeared in issue #210 of The Amazing Spider-Man comic. She is described as an elderly woman suffering from myasthenia gravis who has incredible psychic powersincluding telepathy and clairvoyance.

SJ Clarkson will direct the film, and part of the cast has already been confirmed: Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, Brian Faherty, Alana Monteiro y Zosia Mamet.

The latest reports revealed that Johnson will star in the film. Considering that Madame Web never fought villains due to his conditionit is quite likely that Johnson interprete a Julia Carpenter. The character got the powers of Madame Web after she passed away and she is also known as Spider-Woman.
