“We’ll see what happens in the summer and what’s best for me. Basically, I’m open to everything,” said the 26-year-old after the narrow 3-2 win with AS Monaco in the Europa League play-off first leg Bayer Leverkusen.
Nübel moved from FC Schalke 04 to Säbener Straße in the summer of 2020 and has been playing for Monaco on loan from FC Bayern Munich since 2021 with a contract until this summer.
Meanwhile, his working paper in Munich runs until June 30, 2025. But is there a return to the Bavarian capital at all?

After Bayern captain and regular goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (36) suffered a serious leg injury, both sides talked about an early return in the winter.
He feels “very, very well” in Monaco, said Nübel, who is a regular goalkeeper in the Principality due to his appealing performance and is on his way to the Champions League with AS. “As of now” his focus is also on Monaco.
Nübel did not want to comment on the separation of the record champions from the new confidante Toni Tapalovic (42). “Everything has been said about the story,” said the keeper. “Of course it’s hard for Manuel, but that’s not in my hands.”
