Under the costume, including heavy armor, there is actually none other than Steffen Baumgart (51)! The Bundesliga coach celebrated his first carnival session as coach of 1. FC Köln this Tuesday.

“It’s all a start for me, so I’m looking forward to getting to know each and every situation at the carnival,” said the Cologne head coach.

In the summer of 2021, Baumgart was hired by “Effzeh”, but the traditional meeting was canceled last year, as in the two years before, due to the corona pandemic.

“My personal goal is to be able to celebrate carnival again next year as FC coach. Then I would have achieved a lot and we would be on the right track,” said the 51-year-old.

Like Baumgart, the members of the board and management dressed up as Romans, but not all the same.

Sports director Christian Keller (44), for example, came as General Julius Caesar. Some professionals were also very creative. Timo Hübers (26) went as Forrest Gump, Captain Jonas Hector (32) disguised himself as Harry Potter, Ellyes Skhiri (27) was an astronaut.
