Leipzig – He is the more or less surprising one Transfer des Winters at RB Leipzig. Caden Clark (19) should actually gain more playing experience away from the Red Bulls. Since no suitable loan club was found and the Bundesliga club had to compensate for the absence of Dani Olmo (24), he is now training with the Saxons. However, one should not expect too much.

The attacking midfielder has belonged to the lawn ballers since 2021. Since he is still quite young and the leap into the first team is known to be big, he was initially loaned back to the New York Red Bulls.

There he played a total of 49 competitive games in the MLS (eight goals, four assists) and is the current U20 international for the USA (12 games, two goals).

In September, however, back problems slowed him down. Since then he has trained individually and is now to be slowly introduced to the team. During the week at training it looked pretty good.

However, coach Marco Rose (46) takes all the pressure off: “We’ll take him with us. I think he needs some time. He was injured for a long time but is fit now. He’s a young, talented player that we want to develop further .”

Possible use as a joker at RB Leipzig?

Max Eberl (49), the new head of sport at RB Leipzig, has made it his mission to ensure that youth players in particular receive more attention in the club.

The 49-year-old will therefore keep a very close eye on Clark’s development.

And due to the amount of games, it is not unlikely that the young attacker will get his first game as a joker in the next few weeks. In any case, he is eligible to play.

But a lot will also depend on how quickly the injured are back on board.

Christopher Nkunku (25), for example, is making tremendous progress and could already face the VfL Wolfsburg rejoin the squad.
