HBO has shown its long-awaited series The Last of Us again, based on the hit video game franchise from Naughty Dog. On this occasion the footage has been presented at CCXP22 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
In this new trailer for The Last of Us, which you can see below with Spanish subtitles, we can see characters like Joel, Ellie, Tess or Riley again in several scenes that are highly reminiscent of those seen in the first video game (and its expansion). Of course, a lot of effort is being put into making it look like the series is going to be as faithful to the original story as possible.
In the trailer we can see Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, directly telling Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, that she is not her family and that she is just merchandise, something very similar to a dialogue seen in the video game. We also see how Ellie shows the bite she has on her wrist and other scenes where we can see other characters.
This new footage of The Last of Us adds to the one we were able to see a few weeks ago and which also presented a similar panorama, with many scenes, dialogues, and situations that are directly reminiscent of those seen in the first video game.
This is a new advance before its premiere in just over a month, since it was recently confirmed that The Last of Us will arrive on HBO Max on January 16, 2023, with a total of nine episodes. The Last of Us will feature scripts by Craig Mazin (creator of the Chernobyl series) and Neil Druckmann, director of The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Part II
