München – The FC Bayern Munich in the fight for the top spot in the Bundesliga, made a clear statement to the up-and-coming competition.

“Although many are certainly happy about this, as FC Bayern we want to make things clear again as soon as possible – and start against Union Berlin,” said CEO Oliver Kahn (53) to the “kicker”.
On Sunday (5.30 p.m. / DAZN), Bayern welcome third-placed 1. FC Union Berlin, who are tied on points, to the top game at the end of the 22nd matchday.
The German champions had only picked up nine points from six games in the Bundesliga and lost 3-2 to Borussia Mönchengladbach last matchday.

As a result, the team of coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) leads the table with 43 points only because of the better goal difference in front of Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin. “Because we definitely dropped too many points, the fight for the top is very exciting at the moment,” said Kahn.
In order to be successful in the Bundesliga as well as in the Champions League in the 1-0 win at Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16 first leg, Kahn sees a challenge for the entire team.
“It’s always about total readiness, greed, will and at the same time a certain lightness. If we bring that onto the pitch, we can’t be beat,” said the Bayern boss.
