Jesse Marsch could become the new manager of Southampton FC. Another former RB Leipzig coach was already there.

Southampton – At RB Leipzig it didn’t go any further for both coaches at some point. Eventually they made the leap to the Premier League. We are talking about Ralph Hasenhüttl (55) and Jesse Marsch (49).

Hasenhüttl took over FC Southampton in 2018 and stayed there until November 2022. Marsch started at Leeds United in early 2022 and had to throw in the towel in early February.

Now at least the latter seems to be getting a new job – and of all things at the club where the former RB coach Hasenhüttl last worked for so long.

According to “The Athletic”, the American is a top candidate for the “Saints”, who are stuck in last place despite the change of coach from Hasenhüttl to Nathan Jones (53).

Initial talks are said to have taken place earlier this week. A decision should be made before the duel against Chelsea at the weekend. Allegedly, there is already a verbal commitment from Marsch.

One ex-cop had to go, now a new one is coming! So whether Marsch is the right man for Southampton will likely become apparent in the next few weeks.

What does the former RB-Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhüttl do?

With the Austrian Hasenhüttl, on the other hand, things are not quite as fast. Recently there were rumors that he should have been a candidate for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. There, however, Pellegrino Matarazzo (45) finally took over the office.

Anyway, Hasenhüttl, who says he doesn’t want to end his coaching career that late, sees himself more in England.

Will both coaches be exchanged and Hasenhüttl end up looking after Leeds United? Probably not. The “Peacocks” apparently have Alfred Schreuder (50) and Steven Gerrard (42) on the list.
