The Last of Us reaches another unthinkable milestone: it manages to surpass The House of the Dragon in audience on HBO

Viewers watched a total of 837 million minutes of the television adaptation of The Last of Us between January 22 and 27, 2023which makes it more popular than The House of the Dragon.

The data comes from Nielsen’s 10 streaming charts, which track the number of minutes watched per show across all episodes each week.

The Last of Us series got the sixth position on the list with its 837 million minutes viewedan impressive number considering that only two episodes had been released during the data collection period.

According to Deadline, HBO’s House of the Dragon accumulated 741 million minutes viewed during the same two-episode period in 2022.

Disney+ also managed to sneak into the top 10 on January 22 and 27, 2023 with the children’s program Bluey. However, the rest of the list was dominated by Netflix offerings, including the comedy-drama Ginny and Georgia, which took first place with 1,804 million minutes viewed throughout its 20 episodes.

Las Audience figures for The Last of Us series have grown week after week since its premiere on January 15, 2023, which has attracted 22 million viewers.

This strong growth, coupled with the series’ overwhelmingly positive reception from critics and fans, was enough to ensure a second season that will adapt the events of the game The Last of Us: Part IIde Neil Druckmann.
