Background: After the disappointing 1-1 draw against Karlsruher SC last Sunday, the grandstand addressed clear words to the team, who, in their opinion, acted too weakly.

FCM coach Christian Titz (51) then brought his boys back to the dressing room in the middle of the speech and showed a derogatory gesture towards the fans.

As expected, this did not go down well! Hate comments are piling up online. The club even called on its supporters to remain “factual”.

In the meantime, however, things seem to have calmed down again. Titz and some fan representatives are said to have spoken out on Tuesday.

The coach: “It was important that we got together and exchanged ideas and that it is now clear and we agree that we will go to Kiel together and try everything there to be successful.”

On Saturday, the bottom of the table is waiting for the second Bundesliga the difficult away game at eighth-placed Holstein Kiel. But nothing is lost for Saxony-Anhalt. There are only three points on the 11th place.

In a video published by the club, Titz also went into the scenes after the game against KSC. “I was disappointed with the way my team behaved and couldn’t understand it. Out of emotion, I waved my hand dismissively to show that I didn’t agree.”

The 51-year-old is now sorry: “If someone really felt attacked and offended by me, then I’m sorry, (…) that wasn’t my intention.”
