Chemnitz – He came in mid-August with big plans and goals, after less than half a year he’s gone again: the former professional soccer player Marcel Rozgonyi (47) no longer acts as technical director of the Chemnitz FC.
The employment relationship ended on January 31. The regional league team officially confirmed the separation from Rozgonyi to TAG24.
“Together we want to further develop the CFC and build on successful times in sport. As a traditional football location and sports city, the conditions for success are very good. I am highly motivated and look forward to the tasks ahead,” said Rozgonyi when he started work in Chemnitz.
He had clear ideas about his new job: “The CFC has to become even better and more modern. We have to push digitization forward and create a stable basis for sporting success. That takes time.” Time he apparently didn’t get.
Crazy regional league: CFC coach Tiffert guessed it
Before joining CFC, Rozgonyi worked successfully for three years as sports manager at SpVgg Bayreuth. Together with ex-Aue coach Timo Rost (44), he led the traditional Upper Franconian club to the 3rd division last summer.
Rozgonyi, who once trained and played under Gerd Schädlich (in Hoyerswerda) and Eduard Geyer (78, in Cottbus), also wanted to go there with the sky blues. The 47-year-old is now looking for a new employer.
Rozgonyi’s name was recently mentioned in connection with Halleschen FC. The acutely relegation-threatened third division is currently looking for a new sporting leadership.
